Aik Meng is the co-founder of TE Asia Healthcare Partners and CEO of TE Healthcare Advisory Pte Ltd. He also serves as Senior Advisor to TPG Capital, where he holds various board positions in their portfolio companies. Aik Meng was previously on the Board of Healthscope, a large healthcare group in Australia, and served on the Board of the holding company of United Family Healthcare (UFH), a hospital group in China.
He currently serves as an independent director of 65 Equity Partners, a wholly-owned investment platform of Temasek Holdings which focuses on providing equity and structured capital solutions to established companies with regional or global aspirations.Prior to setting up TE Asia Healthcare with TPG Capital, he served as Group COO of Fortis Healthcare International which he set up and grew in Southeast Asia.
Before venturing into the healthcare industry, Aik Meng was a recognised leader in the maritime industry where he spent almost 20 years. His last position in that industry was the President of APL, a large shipping and marine terminals group.
Aik Meng graduated with an MBA from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Accountancy from Nanyang Technological University.
Timothy Chang previously served as the CEO of two reputable medical institutions, Mahkota Medical Centre and Regency Specialist Hospital in Malaysia. At Mahkota, he managed a 280-bed tertiary hospital with over 100 specialist consultants, established a network of representative offices in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Cambodia. He was also a Board Member of the Association of Private Hospitals in Malaysia.
In 2007, Timothy commissioned Regency Specialist Hospital and was instrumental in restructuring the hospital to profitability.
Timothy holds an MBA from Tsinghua University in Beijing and a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Bristol, UK.
Gavin was previously Principal at KKR Capstone, where he led operational diligence and value creation for private equity investments in Asia. Among these was GenesisCare, Australia’s largest private operator of radiation oncology and cardiology centres.
Prior to joining KKR Capstone, he was a Senior Vice President in Khazanah Nasional, Malaysia’s sovereign wealth fund. Initially in the investments team where he closed acquisitions of several pan-Asian hospital operators, he spent the latter half of his time in Khazanah working within portfolio companies, including serving as the Chief Operating Officer for Gleneagles Hospital Singapore and as a Business Development lead in Parkway Holdings, where he acquired several hospitals and initiated greenfield developments.
Before Khazanah, Gavin was a consultant with McKinsey & Company.
Gavin holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering & a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania, USA.
Anwar is an experienced healthcare executive with a solid track record of managing hospitals in Malaysia. Previously, he served as the CEO of Pantai Hospitals in Kuala Lumpur and Ipoh. At Pantai, he was responsible for a successful management reorganisation, implementing group synergy efforts, business planning and management of consultant specialists. During his tenure at Pantai Hospital Ipoh, the hospital achieved its highest revenue per staff within the entire Pantai Group.
Anwar is recognised as a leader in the healthcare space and has spoken at various conferences and panels.
Anwar graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Oklahoma State University.
Mark was previously the Group Financial Controller of Fullerton Health where he managed group finance functions including treasury and tax matters, financial planning and analysis. Mark was also involved in the Group’s acquisition activity, capital raising, and investor relations.
Prior to Fullerton Health, Mark led audit engagements, debt and equity capital raising projects at Deloitte. He also spent two years running his own firm in Mauritius after working for the Big 4 professional services firms in the UK, Mauritius and Singapore.
Mark is recognised as a Fellow Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Manchester University, UK.
